SOLO RECITAL DEBUT IN NCH'S CELEBRITY SERIES - PART OF A BUSY SEASON AHEAD
August 31st 2009
Finghin is delighted to announce that he will make his solo recital début at the Irish Times Celebrity Recital Series at the National Concert Hall in Dublin on January 27th, 2010. This follows his appearance in the same series alongside cellist Han-Na Chang in May 2009. Other recitals during the 2009/2010 season include the Serres d'Auteuil in Paris, the Flanders Festival in Brussels, the World of the Piano concert series in Shenandoah University in Virginia and the Wissembourg Festival in Alsace.
Orchestral appearances this season include return visits to the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pflalz in Germany, Northern Sinfonia in the UK, the RTE National Symphony Orchestra in Dublin and the Ulster Orchestra in Belfast, with whom he will perform Brahms' gigantic Second Piano Concerto for the first time in February 2010. He will also make his début with the Wuppertal Philharmonic Orchestra in Milan, performing Beethoven's Emperor Concerto, with the Anhaltisches Orchester in Dessau, performing Mozart, and with the Wonju Philharmonic in Seoul, performing Rachmaninov's Second Concerto at the Korea International Music Festival.
His profile in Asia will be further enhanced by a major recital tour of Korea with cellist Han-Na Chang, performing the two masterful sonatas for cello and piano between November 19th and December 5th 2009.
Of course it wouldn't be September without the New Ross Piano Festival, which takes place each year during the last weekend of the month. Finghin is Artistic Director of this Festival and contributes to it with solo and chamber performances. Further information and booking here.
Details of all Finghin's concerts are presented on the Engagements pages.
