IN THE STUDIO - FINGHIN RECORDS TWO MORE SCHUMANN CDS
13th November 2008
Next week Finghin returns to the recording studio to record the second disc of Volume 3 of Claves Records' survey of Schumann's complete solo piano music. His recording of Volume 1 was released in 2006 to major international critical acclaim and was followed in 2007 by the release of Volume 2, performed by Swiss pianist Cédric Pescia; this release was also extremely well received by the critics. Now Finghin is half-way through recording Volume 3, which will be released in early 2009.
Volume 3 will include the following works by Schumann:
Abegg Variations Op. 1
Six Intermezzi Op. 4
Etudes Symphoniques Op. 13 (including the five posthumous variations)
Nachtstücke Op. 23
Faschingsschwank aus Wien Op. 26
Bunte Blätter Op. 99
Volume 3 is being recorded in the Siemens Villa in Berlin.
